valley isle resort locationThe Valley Isle Resort (Article exclusive to Maui.US) - Be prepared for splendid ocean vistas at reasonably affordable rates when staying at the Valley Isle Resort.

This condominium style complex is ideal for the budget traveler. Situated directly on the ocean with views of Molokai and Lanai, the Valley Isle Resort rests in one of the most beautiful locations in the entire Island.

My wife and I found the secluded setting very refreshing. Our room was small and the resort as a whole did not have many extravagant amenities but we were very happy with the stay.

Located in the small artsy coastal town of Lahaina, the Valley Isle Resort is an enjoyable destination for all visitors.

Full of interesting art galleries and eclectic shops, downtown Lahaina is great for people watching and leisurely strolling.

One of our favorite spots was the famous Banyan Tree right outside the town courthouse. The tree runs an entire block on the main street in downtown Lahaina. Views of the harbor are also well-worth checking out.

We didn't find many of the restaurants to be too memorable although they have some famous tourist places in town like Bubba Gump Restaurant and Cheeseburger in Paradise.

Lahaina does offer some historical sites such as the old fort walls and guided tours are available if you are curious to learn more.

One of the more fun things we did on our visit to Maui while staying at the Valley Isle was going to the Old Lahaina Luau. Continually voted the best Luau in Maui, the Old Lahaina Luau is a fantastic display of Hawaiian tradition through story and dance.

The performance is exquisite and the setting is absolutely gorgeous.

Located right on the water, you will enjoy one of the most glorious sunset views on the entire island.

Don't be shy when they ask you to come up and show off your hula skills. Dancing together is a memory that me and my wife still talk about to this day.

Not to mention all the food at the Lu'au. Oh the food.

Bring your appetite because there are literally dozens of tables loaded with all kinds of delicious Hawaiian cuisine.

Arrive early and watch as they prepare and begin roasting the buried pig for the main feast of kalua pork.

Make sure and try out the traditional Hawaiian staple item Poi. It is derived from the root of the Taro plant and locals like to put it on just about everything.

Although my wife believed it tasted like generic flavorless paste, you really do need to try it for yourself.

Valley Isle Resort

You know what they say, "When in Rome..."

Keep in mind that this venue is always full so book way in advance (before you even head over to Maui).

The beach located just in front of the Valley Isle Resort is nice for sun bathing and swimming. The sandy bottom is free from dangerous coral reefs and makes for an ideal setting to play with the kids.

If you want to find a larger area to play then I suggest driving down the road to the resort town of Kaanapali. This long stretch of beach is perfect for walks and the area is also full of shops and restaurants.

The shopping area is called Whaler's Village and you can find just about anything you would want here. From local Hawaiian products to big store brands, the Village is a good place to look for presents to take home.

Be prepared for crowds in Kaanapali as the entire "town" is completely full of tourists.

Memories of glorious sunsets and sounds of waves crashing on the shore abound after a trip to the Valley Isle Resort on Maui.

We loved it here and recommend it for people of all ages.
