"We Wouldn't Stay
Anywhere Else" :: This is a small inn near
the middle of Lahaina, just a block and a half from
Cheeseburgers in Paradise at the sea wall. There are
only 18 rooms and that suits us fine. The French colonial
styled inn is set in an enclosed courtyard with a marvelous
breakfast by the pool until 9:00 and a French restaurant
for fancy dinners. At night, sit on your lanai, turn
off the lights, and listen to the surf, the doves, and
the wind in the palm trees. The outside lighting is
just the pool lights and some accent lighting on the
palm trees ... simply spellbinding. This is NOT a resort
property with its busses, parking structures, tip-begging
employees, activities desk, bar after bar, and mainlanders
by the thousands. The Plantation staff is delightfully
professional with warm "alohas" and a stealth housekeeping
service. We never did see them. There is off-street
parking, air conditioning, refrigerators, safes, lovely
decor, overhead fans, and, best of all, peace and quiet.
There is a grocery store two blocks north that will
give you a visitors discount card if you ask. The inn
has stay and drive packages that makes your rental car
cheap. Leave the kids home, grab the one you love, and
live a little (very well) at The Plantation Inn, Lahaina,
Maui.
"Best B&B On Maui"
:: My husband and I went to Maui on our honeymoon in
March 2004. We stayed at the Four Seasons in Wailea
which was beautiful, but very pricey. After our first
visit into Lahaina, we spotted the Plantation Inn which
was absolutely beautiful and decided to call them for
their rates. We booked a suite for $200 a night, which
was $600 less a night when we stayed at the Four Seasons.
It was the most beautiful little B&B I had ever stayed
in. Our room was beautiful, the staff was super friendly
and helpful, the poolside breakfast is great (and included)
and the grounds were spectacular. I cannot say enough
great things about this place, you must stay here when
visiting Lahaina. We are definitely coming back here
on our anniversary. Also Gerard's restaurant on the
property is also a excellent French Restaurant. A little
pricey, but worth every bite.
"A Great Value In
Lahaina" :: I had originally reserved a superior
room but upon check-in I was upgraded to a deluxe room
on the main level with a small sitting area outside
the room over looking the pool and courtyard. The room
was very clean and simply and tastefully appointed.
The staff were very nice and helpful. Parking is provided
at the inn which is nice because parking is problematic
and can be expensive in Lahaina. The inn is just a few
blocks away from all the action on Front Street but
far enough away that its quiet and relaxing. It was
great to take a refreshing dip in the pool after shopping
during the hot summer days. Overall, the inn is a good
value and you can't beat its prime location within Lahaina.
I would definitely stay here again.
