Kihei
Akahi - Set
of four buildings, 1, 2 or 6 stories tall, making this
well-ranked condominium rental a good candidate for
whale watching season.
There is
no lobby at the Kihei Akahi, keys must be picked up
off site. The absence of a lobby is a huge plus for
anyone who wishes to avoid the hotel circuit.
The condo
units offer both two bedroom and one bedroom choices.
The KA is located across the
street from the famous Kamaole Beach II.
The complex was completed in
1976, and like many buildings of that era, concrete
was used extensively.
Because of its solid construction,
the Kihei Akahi is quiet even in the tradewinds.
There is a very high return
rate for guests. Many who stay once will come back multiple
times.
All interiors are well appointed,
feature full kitchens and baths, private lanais, cable
and offer in unit washers and dryers. Units offer ocean
or partial ocean views.
The grounds are landscaped with
hibiscus, palms, ginger and many other tropical plants.
There is a fairly low percentage of
owner-occupied (live in) condos, making it more hospitable
for visitors.
South Kihei road is pretty busy, and
generates some noise. This is a notable problem with
other condos, but not so here at the Kihei Akahi due
to the substantial setback from the traffic.
