Kihei Akahi locationKihei Akahi - Set of four buildings, 1, 2 or 6 stories tall, making this well-ranked condominium rental a good candidate for whale watching season.

There is no lobby at the Kihei Akahi, keys must be picked up off site. The absence of a lobby is a huge plus for anyone who wishes to avoid the hotel circuit.

The condo units offer both two bedroom and one bedroom choices.

Kihei Akahi

The KA is located across the street from the famous Kamaole Beach II.

The complex was completed in 1976, and like many buildings of that era, concrete was used extensively.

Because of its solid construction, the Kihei Akahi is quiet even in the tradewinds.

There is a very high return rate for guests. Many who stay once will come back multiple times.

All interiors are well appointed, feature full kitchens and baths, private lanais, cable and offer in unit washers and dryers. Units offer ocean or partial ocean views.

The grounds are landscaped with hibiscus, palms, ginger and many other tropical plants.

There is a fairly low percentage of owner-occupied (live in) condos, making it more hospitable for visitors.

South Kihei road is pretty busy, and generates some noise. This is a notable problem with other condos, but not so here at the Kihei Akahi due to the substantial setback from the traffic.

"Relax And Enjoy" :: A few weeks ago we returned from staying at the Kihei Akahi on Maui. We traveled to the island with over 60 people for a wedding. Accommodations ran from one end of the island to the other. I was lucky to stay in the middle. Kihei. 40 yards from the beach and 20 yards from the pool at a condo that had a ocean view #108. Cost was less and more convenient than staying at the Hyatt or Four Seasons. Kihei Akahi is very short walking distance from restaurants, markets and night life. Lulu's is new fun stop and Life's a Beach has a $ 1.00 Mai Tai's for Happy Hour that last more than one hour unlike other watering holes on the high end side of the island. Overall the accommodations at the Kihei Akahi give you a relaxing and best bang for you buck without calling for Western Union. And waking up to the ocean view is worth being away from the tourist side of the island. At least that's what a Holiday is for. Getting away from it all. To Relax and Enjoy!!! Aloha!!!

"Loved Everything About The Akahi" :: Searched the internet for the perfect condo for our third trip to Maui and we certainly found it here. We were in building C, fifth floor and could see whales from our lanai every day as well as kayakers, boats and rainbows. The grounds are beautifully maintained including the pool areas (2) and barbecues, which we used several times. A short walk across the street and we were at a wonderful beach. The weather was a little unpredictable this trip but we always managed to have some sun at our condo and nearby beach. We enjoyed walking to the nearby shops and jumped in our car to head south to great snorkeling areas, a short drive, under 20 min.. The singing birds and friendly neighbors added to our enjoyment. Our condo itself was immaculate and nicely furnished. Everything we could possibly need was included. I would definitely come to the Akahi again. Note: We are an older couple and we did not see many children here, just a few babies.

"Kihei Akahi" :: The condo was big enough for everybody and it was well supplied with everything. It had tons of towels, including beach towels as well as boogie boards, beach umbrellas and beach chairs. The living room leads to balcony with partial view of the ocean. You can feel the ocean breeze there. We didn't even use A/C. The balcony had tables and chairs. Joan and her cleaning service do a great job keeping the condo up. It looked and smelled well. We have no single complaint except for loud teenagers that rented condo next door the last 3 days of our stay. Kihei Akahi is an apartment complex that consists of several buildings, 2 small but clean pools, and tennis court. It is across the street from Kamaole beach in South Kihei. No matter what building you are in, you are within 5 min walking distance to the beach, Mexican, and Greek restaurants. If you walk 8 min, you'll get to little shopping center with Denny's, Da Kitchen, Hawaiian ice cream place, shops, and horrible Chinese restaurant. If you walk 10 min, you'll get to Baskin Robins, Thai restaurant, coffee place, small grocery store, etc. Everything is within walking distance. Internet is free and it's wired as well as wireless. The community feels safe and has beautiful landscaping.. My mom fell in love with exotic flowers and trees all over. By the way, you can watch amazing sunset if you just step few feet in front of the door to the unit.
