Kahana Villas locationKahana Villa - Spoiler Alert : There are too many negative reviews for me to recommend this property to my customers.

Even worse, there are too many lukewarm ones.

It is inexpensive, but it seems that the physical plant is in dire need of renovations, upgrades and maintenance.

The travelers main complaints center around traffic noise and air conditioning in the downstairs only, leaving the upstairs sleeping quarters uncomfortably hot.

Kahana Villas

The Kahana Villas are located across from the Kahana Beach, have a hot tub on property and are within walking distance to several restaurants and the Kahana Village for shopping.

The units come with a kitchen, and a washer/dryer unit.

The Kahana Villas are not a resort per-se, they are condos for rent and if your expectations are for something inexpensive in an expensive area, you may be the ones to write a good review.

Kahana Villas

One of the clues can be taken from the photos provided by the property itself below.

The fabrics seem to be pastel-fabulous eighties prints, last popular sometime around 1982.

The wicker furniture even looks uncomfortable, and if you have nothing other than this to sit on, you may as well use the floor.

I am sure that this was once a primo place, and possibly it can be again some day.

We will be waiting to hear about that nice top to bottom total renovation.

"Worst Room In The Resort" :: What a week! I have to say this was one of the worst accommodations I have ever had, and I have traveled a lot! I knew the resort was not ocean front, so did not expect a view, but I did expect a nice, quiet week near my brother's luxury timeshare resort across the street. When I found my room at the very back of the resort on the ground floor, I did not mind not having any view, or being the furthest point from the lobby or shore. However, I did not expect to be about 50 feet from the freeway! Trucks roared by my room all night with only a rusty chain link fence divider, and there was no way to close out the noise due to louver windows that do not seal tightly. The bedroom was at the rear of the unit, closest to the busy freeway. It was so far down the hallway from the living area which had a window box AC that the bedroom did not cool down. I could not open the windows due to noise, and the ceiling fan did not work! I could not even move to the living room because the fold out couch bed in the living area was not suitable to sleep on.

"Not Great But Not Awful " :: Now for the negatives.... our unit had a terrible front door. You either had to bang it closed or use the handle from the inside to open it, hold it in the open position while grabbing the handle from the outside and then closing it. The sleeper sofa in the living room was very hard. We took the back cushions off and that made it a little more tolerable. The TV set up is OK. They had a 19" TV with a VCR and DVD player and cable TV. I guess I am just spoiled with a large TV and wished this one was bigger. There is no stereo/radio for music. I missed this because I love to turn on the stereo and listen to Hawaiian music while in the islands. The one air conditioner unit that is mounted in the unit (not central air) was OK. We would turn on the A/C when we left for the day and then open up the doors and turn on the 3 ceiling fans in the unit to cool things off. But if you really needed cool air this A/C might not have been able to cut it. The other negative is if you arrive past 5:00 pm the front desk is closed so you will need to go across the street to the Sands of Kahana to get your keys. This can be a pain since after flying and driving to get to the condo, you don't want to go through one more stop if you are arriving late. Overall.... this is not a terrible place to stay. The Kahana area is nice and not far from Kaanapali and Lahaina but it is much more peaceful and affordable. You could do worst.

"I'd Stay Here Again" :: Nice, clean modern two bedroom two floor unit with view of the ocean. Staff was great. Fixed a fan and got the dvd to work in very short time. Just a few blocks from a brew pub, a steak house and Roy's. Two miles up the highway is Napili with a good grocery store and coffee places and little restaurants. Up the highway another mile is J.D. Fleming beach, probably the best boogie boarding beach in my opinion. It has a lifeguard. Very scenic rugged coastline farther north. Has a nice unheated pool, a hot tub and gas bbq grills. Overall, very relaxing
