Hyatt
Regency (exclusive to Maui.US)
- The Way "To Do" Kaanapali! If you're like me and enjoy
indulging in living the fantasy life of opulence and
pampering, if only during the blissful days while on
vacation, then the Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa
on Kaanapali Beach is the very next place to ink in
on your "to do" list.
I'm your
typical luxury resort junkie and have spent a lot of
time in a lot of places around the globe, but I can
unequivocally state that the time I spent at the Hyatt
Regency in Maui was the best of the best.
Now, in all
fairness, you should know that I will always pick a
destination with a beach over a destination with a snow;
so with that disclaimer revealed, I go back to my original
proclamation - the best I have ever experienced is this
incredible property located on the beautifully pristine
three mile white-sanded swimming beach known as Kaanapali.
Can You Say "Amenities"? Nestled
among dense, colorful, and mature tropical foliage that
weaves fragrantly through the expansive property, the
Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa on Kaanapali Beach
had an answer to every need I could imagine.
Was there a spa? Of course.
And it's one of the most serene settings that I could
have imagined. The couples' massage my husband and I
enjoyed took place in an open air cabana with views
of the beach and the sounds of the waves lulling us
into absolute blissful relaxation.
Sure, most any massage feels
great - but try one with the sound and smell of the
ocean as your backdrop and you, too, will use the take-away
memory to lull you back into that exact sense of relaxation
you originally experienced.
Were there pools? Of course.
Two, in fact -- and they were both freeform in their
design, thereby lending themselves to the overall unrestricted
sense of freedom conveyed by the property as a whole.
There should be nothing hard about vacation, right?
So why have hard corners on pools!
Not only were these pools incredible
during the day as we swam from seeming private cove-like
area to private cove-like area; but they became transformed
at night when the tropical air and mesmerizing illumination
mingled to transition the pools into something very
different from what we experienced earlier in the day.
What about restaurants? Of course;
and we had five to choose from that were on the property.
My favorite (only because I'm a die-hard romantic) was
Swan Court. The setting was spectacular, the service
was impeccable, and the memories of the actual swans
that swam to our table are ones that will live on forever.
My second favorite take away
memory was sitting next to the Koi lagoons and watching,
almost hypnotically, as the Koi meandered through the
lagoons reminiscent of how my husband and I wove our
way through the lushness surrounding us.
Was there a sense of seclusion?
Of course. There were courtyards and meandering paths
throughout the expansive property that will made us
feel as though we were the only ones enjoying the enchantment
that surrounded us. We found ourselves stopping often
to delight in the sights and sounds the lushness emitted,
and we swore to ourselves that we're "never, ever going
to leave!"
